Therapy

I offer psychodynamic therapy and psychoanalysis. Following an initial consultation, I will suggest the form of therapy that best suits your needs and current situation. Depending on the form of therapy and individual circumstances, fees range between £60-90 per session.

Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy sees psychic suffering as a consequence of current conflicts and/or of unresolved experiences from earlier life phases. These unconscious conflicts and experiences can impact the present life and result in psychological pain. The aim of psychodynamic therapy is to identify, explore and engange with these unconscious motives and conflicts. Through insight into the dynamics and causes of the current problems, changes in experience and behaviour can be achieved. The sessions usually take place 1-2 times a week.

Psychoanalysis/Psychoanalytical Therapy
Psychoanalysis assumes that symptoms arise from and are maintained by conflictual, unconscious processing of relationships and experiences across the lifespan. The recognition and awareness of repressed or unprocessed feelings, memories, and patterns from childhood, as well as the current life situation, play a central role in the therapeutic relationship. Through the analytical process of working through, feelings that may seem incomprehensible, as well as painful and yet unavoidable repetitions in one’s biography, can be understood and transformed. The sessions usually take place 2-4 times a week.
